A set of Danish design beer glasses signed by Per Lütken for Holmegaard glassworks, belonging to the Atlantic series (also written 'Atlantis' in some sources). This collection was produced between 1962 and 1975.
The glass features a bowl of tinted glass in a smoky labrador gray tone, set on a stem and foot of clear glass, creating a subtle and elegant contrast. The form is vertical, simple, and functional, designed to serve beer with style and visual lightness, reflecting the sensibility of mid-century Scandinavian design.

Story
The Atlantic Series
The Atlantic series was introduced in the early 1960s and produced until the mid-1970s. Its name evokes both a maritime breeze and a sense of expansiveness, in part thanks to the tinted 'labrador' glass that suggests deep water. Although there are several versions of the series, the beer glasses are distinguished by their robust stem and firm base, designed for frequent and resistant use. They are considered classic pieces of modern Danish design and are highly valued by collectors for their refined aesthetics and historic manufacture.
About the Designer: Per Lütken
Per Lütken (1916–1998) was one of the most influential designers in the history of Danish glass. He worked at Holmegaard for more than five decades, from 1942 until his death, and designed more than 3,000 pieces. Lütken was known for his perfectionism and for demanding great precision from glassblowers. His approach combined soft lines, balance in form, and a deep functional sense, which gave rise to many iconic series.
About the Brand: Holmegaard
Founded in 1825, Holmegaard is one of Denmark's most historic glassworks. During the 'Lütken era' (1942–1998), the house experienced a period of splendor thanks to its collaboration with the designer, who drove series such as Provence, No. 5, Idéelle, Selandia, and, of course, Atlantic. Holmegaard has become a reference point for Danish design: its pieces are synonymous with elegance, functionality, and a very careful artisanal tradition.
These Atlantic beer glasses are not simply drinkware—they are pieces of Danish glass history. The smoky labrador tone and clear stem create a sophisticated contrast that elevates the ritual of enjoying beer. This is the kind of design that celebrates the golden age of Scandinavian glass and becomes a treasured part of any collection or table setting.
