  • A personal connection to Nordic design

    Circular Nordic Vintage is a selection of Nordic vintage design, mostly from the 1940s to the 1990s, with a focus on ceramics, glass, tableware and objects for the home.


    Although I’m now based in the French Basque Country, I was born and raised in Sweden. Nordic design has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. The objects, designers and manufacturers behind this selection are not unfamiliar names from design history. They are part of the visual and material world I grew up with.


    Living outside Sweden has given those objects a different meaning for me. They carry memories of home, of the places and surroundings I grew up in, and of a way of living that I still feel connected to. Some of that connection is difficult to explain. It is simply the feeling of recognising something that has always been familiar.


    Circular Nordic Vintage grew from that feeling.

  • Nordic design, then and now

    The selection brings together ceramics, glass, tableware and objects from different decades, designers and manufacturers. Some are immediately recognisable, others less so.

    What connects them is their place within Nordic design culture, but also the fact that they can still feel completely natural in a home today. I’m not interested in recreating a particular period or a particular idea of what a Nordic interior should look like.


    A piece from the 1950s can sit alongside something contemporary. A coffee cup designed decades ago can still be the one you reach for every morning. A bowl, a vase or a set of glasses can move from one home and one generation to another and take on a new place in everyday life.


    For me, that is part of what makes vintage design interesting: it belongs to another time, but it doesn’t have to stay there.
