Rörstrand ASI Matte Stoneware Vase by Gunnar Nylund

A small stoneware vase by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand, characterised by a rounded body that narrows into a slender neck and finishes with a softly flared rim.

The vase is covered in a matte “Hares Fur” glaze, with deep blue and dark charcoal tones over a darker brown ground. The glaze becomes lighter around the upper section, where blue and ochre tones emerge along the rim and neck. Fine vertical variations in the glaze follow the contours of the form and emphasise its rounded body.

The unglazed foot reveals the natural stoneware body and carries the incised Rörstrand Sweden hallmark, the ASI model designation and Gunnar Nylund’s monogram.
