Kosta LH 1657/128 Sommerso Glass Vase by Vicke Lindstrand, Sweden

A sculptural piece of Swedish art glass designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta, Sweden.

Signed LH 1657/128, this vintage vase features an elongated, tapered silhouette with a small pedestal foot. Its translucent amethyst-purple core is encased in clear glass, creating depth and contrast between colour and transparency.

The layered glass reveals different tones of purple as the light passes through the piece, emphasising its slender proportions and distinctive form. It is an example of mid-century Scandinavian glass design, in which colour, light and the properties of the material play an essential role.
